The mysteries of the universe never seem to cease, the majestic night sky continues to feed the imagination of the people, and an influence of the astral bodies is seen through the years. This connection with the celestial world has constantly inspired jewelers. At DiAi Designs, the fascination of the world with the stars and planets encouraged us to capture the magic of these cosmic wonders. We bring the timelessness of the celestial universe into jewellery through our Moonlight Hoops, the Sun and Moon Union Necklaces, our Constellation Golden Kada and the mangalsutra referencing the Starry Night.
Stepping back in time to understand Celestial jewellery
While purchasing and wearing celestial jewellery may seem as a trend that has picked up in recent times with a new age of wearers becoming intrigued with planetary movements and the energy of the sun and the moon, celestial jewellery dates back as long as two to three centuries when kings and queens had rings made with gold, silver, enamel and diamonds with a multitude of stars set in different settings. It was a sign of power and regality and a way to aid the royalty in their days of difficulty and making decisions that would have a large impact on their lives and the lives of many others.
Symbolism of Celestial jewellery
As celestial jewellery reappears today and is desired by more and more people even of a younger age, we see that people still believe that the cosmos holds certain secrets that even with all of our new found technology we have not been able to navigate. From a world that is seemingly so close to us but continues to confound us, we hope to find guidance and direction like the North Star that literally guided our ancestors and the many generations that came before us. The celestial realm continues to present us with a world that is more unknown than known and we hope that wearing jewellery that represents this vast world of the unknown allows us to believe in the powers we hold that may still be unknown to us.
Motifs of the sun and sun pendants are used to signify the life, energy, and vitality that the sun provides to the Earth and in turn the life that flourishes because of it. Our lab grown diamond Sun Solitaire Necklace radiates the energy of the wearer and stands as a symbol of the wearer’s desire to nourish and protect their life. The glory of the moon in the night sky is often associated with the cycles of change, a feminine power, and a calm and purifying presence. The stars illuminate, they light up the path and are a symbol of divinity. The constellations with fixed positions of the stars forming a shape or a pattern represent a landmark, a fixed idea that you may stand for. The coming together of the sun and the moon showcases balance being found in the Universe. The Tula Bracelet from DiAi Diamonds is often bought by people seeking balance in their lives.
